從這張肖像看，葉景呂明顯消瘦了，不知是不是因為不適應被迫“退休”的生活？1937年，羅家的茶行和當鋪相繼停業，大掌櫃葉景呂從此賦閑在家。從1923年以來，葉景呂一直穿著的長袍長衫，今年換成了家常夏裝：香雲紗短衫和白竹布褲子，一副閒散的樣子。大概這也是葉景呂在無奈之下的年度紀念吧。 

白色太陽帽也再一次出現在畫面中，背景還是西洋風格的田園風光。

Nesta fotografia Ye Jinglü apresenta-se claramente mais magro. Talvez com o afastamento do seu negócio ele se tenha sentido incapaz de adaptar à nova vida. Em 1937, após o encerramento das lojas de penhores e de chá da família, Ye Jinglü, seu chefe gerente, retira-se da vida profissional activa. Desde 1923 que vinha usando trajes longos nas suas fotos. Neste ano, no entanto, usa trajes de Verão informais: uma camisa curta feita em seda de Cantão e calças de tecido branco, um conjunto para, provavelmente, marcar o primeiro ano de reforma.

O capacete de sol branco aparece novamente. O cenário continua a ser de estilo idílico ocidental.

He seems obviously thinner in this photo. Perhaps, after retirement from his business he felt unable to adapt himself to the new life. In 1937, after the Lo family tea shop and pawnshop closed, their chief manager Ye Jinglü retired and stayed at home, jobless. Since 1923 Ye Jinglü has been wearing long gowns in his photos. This year he changes to household summer attire: a short shirt made of gambiered Canton gauze and trousers of white fabric, an ensemble perhaps to mark the first year of retirement.

The white sun helmet appears again. The background is still the Western style idyll.
