這一年，葉景呂仍非單獨拍攝個人肖像，而是用5月12日在杭州和女兒、弟弟家合影照片的底版加洗了一幅局部放大肖像。照片所用的是當時很流行的一種布紋紙。

從4月27日到6月13日，葉景呂夫婦去杭州看望了女兒葉圭英和三弟葉我淮，在那裡住了近兩個月，這也是葉景呂一生中少有地離開家鄉福州的一段時間。葉景呂的這段生活很愉快，以至於當他回到福州時，體重增加到了127斤。

但就是在葉景呂回到福州一個多月後，患淋巴癌的大兒子葉健明因病情突然惡化，不久去世。

Neste ano o retrato pessoal de Ye Jinglü foi obtido a partir do negativo de uma fotografia com a sua filha e irmão e as suas famílias em Hangzhou, no dia 12 de Maio. Foi impressa em papel de linho, bastante popular na época. 

Entre 27 de Abril e 13 de Junho, Ye Jinglü e a sua mulher passaram perto de dois meses em Hangzhou em visita à sua filha Ye Guiying e ao segundo irmão mais novo Ye Wohuai. Foi uma das raras ocasiões em que ele deixou a sua cidade natal de Fuzhou, mas é preciso referir que foi um período feliz na sua vida. Quando regressou a Fuzhou, o seu peso tinha aumentado para 63,5 Kg.

Mas cerca de um mês após o regresso a Fuzhou, o estado de saúde do seu filho mais velho Ye Jianming, que sofria de um linfoma, agravou-se repentinamente tendo este acabado por falecer.

This year Ye Jinglü’s personal portrait was developed from the negative of a photo with his daughter and brother and their families in Hangzhou on May 12. It was printed on linen paper, which was rather popular at the time. 

Between April 27 and June 13, Ye Jinglü and his wife spent nearly two months in Hangzhou, visiting their daughter Ye Guiying and his second younger brother Ye Wohuai. That was one of the rare occasions that he left his hometown of Fuzhou, but it must be said that it was a happy period in his life. When he got back to Fuzhou, his weight had grown to 63.5 kg.

But a month or so after his return to Fuzhou, the condition of his eldest son Ye Jianming, who had been suffering from lymphoma, suddenly deteriorated and passed away.
